Members of the Opposition parties held a meeting in Parliament to chal out a strategy to corner the Narendra Modi government over its demonetisation move as the Winter Session entered its eighth day on Friday.

The unrelenting Opposition looks adamant about Modi’s clarification on the demonetisation exercise and his participation in the debate.

However, the government expressed its concerns over the Opposition’s stand saying that it is running away from the debate.

“The government is ready for debate but the Opposition is running away from it, this isn't right,” ANI quoted Union minister Ananth Kumar  as saying

On Thursday, Modi attended the Rajya Sabha proceedings but his presence failed to break the deadlock over the recall of high-value currency notes as the Opposition intensified its protests inside the House and outside.
