Congress president Rahul Gandhi visited the Pitambara Peeth in Datia on Monday during his two-day visit to poll-bound Madhya Pradesh. He will hold roadshows in four places and will address five public meetings during his visit to the state.
Rahul Gandhi visited the Datia temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, which is well-known for its tantric practices. The rituals and rites are believed to have helped many people in their achievements and success. The Pitambara Peeth is known to help devotees destroy negative energy and enemies. He was accompanied by Congress leaders Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath.

Priests even claim that the Chinese attack on India in 1962 had only ceased after a ritual was done at a special request by then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and according to locals, similar rituals were performed during Indo-Pak wars in 1965 and 1971 and Kargil war in 2000.
