An FIR was registered on Sunday against DMK leader MK Stalin for staging a protest at Marina beach. Stalin alleged that he was mishandled during trust vote at the behest of ruling party, AIADMK. Â
Leader of opposition in Tamil Nadu assembly M K Stalin held a crucial meeting of DMK MLAs on Sunday.
Stalin had participated in Saturday's protest which later turned violent. Chief Minister E Palanisamy won the trust vote amid chaos. The DMK leader was evicted from the Assembly along with his party’s MLAs. He was seen unbuttoned and his shirt was torn.
In the evening, the leader reached Marina beach and sat on a protest.
During the trust vote, the Speaker P Dhanapal’s chair was broken and he was shoved by the DMK lawmakers. A few MLAs were seen standing on tables.
Stalin had also met governor C Vidyasagar Rao and had lodged his complaint with the latter at Raj Bhawan.
Stalin had regret over the incident, but justified his action, saying that the Speaker was not accepting their demand to conduct secret ballot. Â
