Yogi Adityanath: UP govt launches '181' helpline for women's security in 75 districts

UP CM Yogi Adityanath briefed the media on Saturday in Lucknow where he discussed various steps undertaken by the government regarding women's safety and security. He congratulated his team for programs undertaken regarding empowerment of women and girls and success achieved in 100 days.

However, the UP CM also expressed his concern regarding the rising crime rate in the state.

Updates from Yogi Adityanath's press conference:

# 181 helpline which was launched for women's security will now be expanded to 75 districts in UP.

# Rescue van started by Yogi in UP for 64 districts.

# All of us face the challenge of reducing the abysmal female sex ratio in the society. In some places in UP, the female sex ratio is very poor when compared to the male sex ratio. The government is placing special emphasis to improve this scenario.

# Discrimination begins from our own families and then we expect that there will be no discrimination in the society. Thus, we will have to get rid of discrimination from our own families first.

# We will not restrict ourselves to announcements and promises but will also work on them. Our government works without any discrimination.

# The 'police informer program' is a good initiative but we will have to take care of the fact that it isn't misused. 

# We need to give special emphasis on places in UP which have an abysmal female sex ratio. Further, we need to undertake pilot projects to address the issue in such places.

# Women are very insecure in places like Baghpat and Bulandshahar.

# The government is serious on women's security and will take steps regarding it

Minister of Women welfare Rita Bahuguna Joshi said that the rescue van and police informer programs will be fruitful for women. Aasha Jyoti Kendras will be developed in all districts. In such places we will work on reducing issues such as female infanticide and crime against women.

Health minister Sidharth Nath Singh said that in the past 100 days positive steps have been undertaken regarding this program and I congratulate the Women welfare department of the state for this. The government is undertaking various positive steps.
