A day after all efforts of a patch up between Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav failed, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister has called a meeting of party MLAs on Thursday to chalk out his next strategy.

A day after all efforts of a patch up between Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav failed, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister met party MLAs and minister on Thursday to chalk out his next strategy.

The MLAs met the chief minister at his official residence in Lucknow.

The meeting comes a day after the Election Commission announced a seven-phase poll scheduled for Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the EC has also asked the father-son duo to reply on each other's petitions on claims of party and its election symbol.
