Senior BJP leader LK Advani on Tuesday welcomed Supreme Court's observations on the Ayodhya matter. The leader, who spearheaded the campaign for a Ram Mandir in UP city said that all parties involved should come to a consensus. 

“Supreme Court's observations are welcome; all involved should come to a consensus,” Advani said. 

The Central government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court's suggestion of an out-of-court settlement of the Ayodhya Ram Temple dispute.

After his farewell speech in Lok Sabha, new UP CM and Hindutva mascot Yogi Adityanath also spoke to media on Supreme Court's observation on Ayodhya matter. "We welcome Supreme Court's observation; both sides must sit down and find a solution," he told reporters.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said fresh attempts must be made by all parties concerned to find a solution to the Ayodhya Ram Temple dispute which is a "sensitive" and "sentimental matter".

A bench headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar said that such religious issues can be solved through negotiations and offered to mediate to arrive at an amicable settlement.

"These are issues of religion and sentiments. These are issues where all the parties can sit together and arrive at a consensual decision to end the dispute. All of you may sit together and hold a cordial meeting," the bench also comprising Justices DY Chandrachud and SK Kaul said.
