Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Sunday called an All Party Meeting which is being viewed as a prelude to the Budget Session that begins on Monday.
The meeting, which was held in Parliament Library building was attended by PM Narendra Modi, Congress Leader Mallikarjun Kharge, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar, Deputy Lok Sabha Speaker M Thambidurai, SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and other political leaders from different parties.
“Several issues were discussed and we'll try to accommodate all of them. I hope session goes on smoothly,” said LS Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
The Union Budget would be presented on February 1 in two parts with 8 sittings in the first and 23 sittings in the second part.
