As part of the cleanliness campaign to clean Uttar Pradesh of slaughter houses, illegal buses and eve-teasers, government and police officers were administered oath of cleanliness, where they were asked to pledge 100 hours per year to contribute towards cleanliness.
In one of the oath taking ceremonies, Nagesh Mishra, a police inspector of Madison police station in Lucknow was not only found chewing paan masala, but he was chewing it while administering oath of cleanliness to policemen on Friday.

Also to everyone's notice, Mishra was not wearing the uniform while administering oath. As soon as his photo of oath administering in civil clothes was published by the local media, Chief Minister’s Office is reported to have taken note and state DIG investigated the issue.
Mishra has been suspended and sent to police line for disciplinary action.
