Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that his government too is mulling to launch anti-Romeo squads on the lines of Uttar Pradesh in order to crackdown on sexual predators.
Earlier, UP CM Yogi Adityanath had announced anti-Romeo squads in order to tackle the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
After taking the salute at Police Training Academy in Bhouri on the outskirts of Bhopal, Chouhan claimed that MP is all set to bring a legislation in the forthcoming monsoon session for awarding death penalty to rapists.

National Crime Records Bureau's data painted a sorry picture of MP with reports of 4,391 rape cases coming from the state in 2015. Further, data also showed that between February 1, 2016 and mid-February 2017, 4,279 women were raped and 248 gang-raped.
