India on Thursday remembered King Maharana Pratap, one of the greatest warriors of the country, on the occasion of his 479th Birth Anniversary. Maharana Pratap Jayanti, which falls on the third day of the Jyeshtha Shukla phase, celebrates the achievements of the mighty king of Mewar, a region in Rajasthan of North-western India. The legendary king, who is known for his bravery, honour and patriotism, started the first war for India's independence. Maharana fought alongside Akbar, one of the most famous Mughal Emperors, in the battle of Haldighati. Though Maharana Pratap had to make an escape at the end of the battle, he managed to kill many of his opponents during the intense battle that lasted for nearly 4 hours.

Meanwhile, social media has been flooded with reach tributes as policial leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, took to Twitter to shower praises on the brave king on his 479th Birth Anniversary on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi:

Remembering the great warrior of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a tweet and said Maharana Pratap's life-story is a symbol of courage, self-respect and valor, which will always inspire the countrymen to be patriotic.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot:

Senior Congress leader and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also took to Twitter and wrote, "My humble tributes to vir shiromani Maharana Pratap on his birth anniversary. He was an epitome of courage, bravery and strength. His sacrifice will always be remembered with reverence".

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar:

Paying rich tributes to the Mewar king, Haryana Chief Minister and BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar said, "Tributes to Maharana Pratap, one of the bravest & most inspiring warriors of our country on his birth anniversary. His life symbolises courage, gallantry, "never-say-die" spirit, patriotism & self-sacrifice ".

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje:

On the 479th birth anniversary of the great Rajput king, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje appealed to the country to take a pledge to participate in the nation's welfare by assimilating the ideals of "an intense thinker like Maharana Pratapji".
