Maharashtra: Bank manager asked sexual favours from farmer's wife seeking farm loan

Bank manager asks sexual favours from farmer's wife seeking crop loan, booked

In a shocking case, a bank manager of Central Bank of India’s Buldhana district branch in Maharashtra allegedly demanded sexual favours from a farmer’s wife seeking crop loan, police said on Friday.

The woman along with her husband, a farmer, had gone to the CBI bank where they had applied for a crop loan at Datala in the Malakapur Tehsil on Thursday.

The accused branch manager, Rajesh Hivase, had taken the contact details of the woman for processing loan. He then called her and allegedly demanded sexual favours to get her loan approved.

Later, the manager sent a peon to her home. The peon allegedly told her that the manager was ready to pass her farm loan and even give special benefits if she agreed.

However, the woman recorded Hivase’s phone conversation and filed a police complaint against him. Following the victim’s complaint, police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and also sections of the Prevention of Atrocities Act.

Both, branch manager Hivase and the peon he had sent to the victim’s house, were absconding and police were trying to nab them, police said.
