The Supreme Court on Sunday asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to place before it on Monday morning the letters of Maharashtra Governor recommending revocation of President’s rule in the state and inviting Devendra Fadnavis to form government. In the special hearing on a holiday, the apex court also issued notices to the Centre, Maharashtra government on the petition filed by Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress combine against the Maharashtra Governor’s decision to swear in Fadnavis as chief minister. A bench of Justices N V Ramana, Ashok Bhushan and Sanjiv Khanna also issued notice to Fadnavis and Dy chief minister Ajit Pawar.

Nawab Malik, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP): 50 MLAs are with us but not everyone is at the hotel, 4 MLAs who are kept somewhere by BJP people, are in constant touch with us and will definitely come back.

NCP Chief, Sharad Pawar: There is no question of forming an alliance with BJP. NCP has unanimously decided to ally with Shiv Sena & Congress to form government. Shri Ajit Pawar’s statement is false and misleading in order to create confusion and false perception among the people.

The NCP on Sunday said one of its its 'missing' MLAs Anil Patil has expressed faith in the leadership of Sharad Pawar, indicating his return to the party fold.


Ashish Shelar, BJP: Governor had asked (Shiv Sena) them about their willingness and ability to form the govt. Showing interest to form government and giving time to form government are two different things. Shiv Sena is confusing these two. How can those, who could not decide their Common Minimum Programme in last 10 days, parade MLAs before the Governor in 10 minutes?
