NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has finally broken his silence on the shocking development in Maharashtra that saw BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis taking oath as Chief Minister along with Pawar’s nephew Ajit at Raj Bhavan on Saturday morning. Sharad Pawar took to Twitter to put everything on record. “Ajit Pawar's decision to support the BJP to form the Maharashtra Government is his personal decision and not that of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). We place on record that we do not support or endorse this decision of his,” Pawar said on micro-blogging site.

Sharad Pawar’s statement contradicts the buzz going in the political circles. News agency ANI had reported that NCP Chief Sharad Pawar was part of discussions for Devendra Fadnavis led Maharashtra Govt formation, he had given his assent to Ajit Pawar. “Ajit Pawar is the leader of Parliamentary board of NCP and no decision of NCP is taken without Sharad Pawar’s assent,” the news agency had further said. Senior NCP leader Praful Patel also echoed Sharad Pawar’s sentiments. “This is not NCP's decision and does not have Sharad Pawar saheb's support.,” Patel was quoted as saying.
