New Delhi:

Security forces foiled a major security breach after a man was detained with three live cartridges in his pocket. “One person, Akhtar Khan was entering Parliament through Gate-8 today, he had 3 live rounds in his pocket which were detected by security personnel that he said he had forgotten to take out before entering. He was later handed over to the police and interrogated,” said Delhi Police.

The 44-year-old man is a resident of Ghaziabad and live cartridges (.32 bore) were detected by security personnel when he was entering into the Parliament.

He, however, was released after a thorough verification found that he possessed a licensed weapon and had forgotten to take out the bullets from his pocket before entering the complex.

Earlier in September, the Delhi Police had detained a 26-year-old man with a knife when allegedly tried to enter the Parliament. The man was identified as Sagar Insa, a follower of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, ANI reported.
