The party has 21 legislators in the assembly and enjoying support of 12 other MLAs of NPP, NPF and LJP.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh to prove majority in assembly today

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh will prove his majority in the assembly on Monday. He took oath as the chief minister of the state on March 15th . BJP's  Yumnam Khemchand Singh has been elected as Speaker of Manipur assembly. 

The party has 21 legislators in the assembly and enjoying support of 12 other MLAs of NPP, NPF and LJP. The saffron party leaders had swung into action post results to form the government in state despite the Congress party had 27 MLAs in the House.

The Congress too had claimed that it was enjoying absolute majority in the house, but failed to bring the MLAs before Governor Najma Heptullah.

The governor had administered oath to N Biren as the Chief Minister of Manipur at the Raj Bhawan. NPP's T Joykumar sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister of the state.  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also congratulated the chief minister N Biren Singh, saying that he hoped that the new chief minister will work for development and take the state to new acme.
