Influenced by the policies of the Kejriwal Government and Delhi’s development model, politicians from different parties are constantly joining the Aam Aadmi Party’s grand family Today, Ashwani Bagri and his wife Poonam Bagri from Congress, and many other colleagues of Kashish Ghai from BJP joined the Aam Aadmi Party. AAP National Secretary Pankaj Gupta, AAP Chief Whip Dilip Pandey and AAP MLA Somnath Bharti all welcomed the new members to the party wearing caps and patkas.
Azadpur Mandi chairman Adil Khan from Aam Aadmi Party was also present at this event. Aam Aadmi Party's National Secretary Pankaj Gupta said, “People are joining the Aam Aadmi Party after being impressed by the historic work that has been done by the Kejriwal government in all areas including schools, hospitals, electricity, water, roads, WiFi etc. It is indeed a great thing that I’m meeting all of you for the second time today. This just goes on to show that the people of Delhi want to connect with Arvind Kejriwal more and more. This morning, our friends from Adarsh Nagar joined us.
Furthermore, people from Timarpur, Malviya Nagar, and other areas will be joining us soon. I hope that at the rate with which the Aam Aadmi Party's influence is growing in Delhi and other areas of the country, the party will gain strength and solidity with all the friends who have now joined us. First of all, I invite Dilip Pandey to address all those who have joined us today.” Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson, MLA and Chief Whip in the Vidhan Sabha, Dilip Pandey said, “Today is a very significant day for the Aam Aadmi Party as our family is growing and gaining more strength. I welcome the current councillor of the Congress from Badli Vidhansabha, Poonam Bagri Ji, Ashwini Bagri Ji, a member of the Delhi Congress Committee.
Rajesh Gupta Ji, President of Delhi’s Weekly Bazaar, Vinod Tomar of Town Vending Committee, all of them are joining the AAP family along with Poonam Bagri and Ashwini Bagri. I have full faith that by joining this clan; they have not only made it bigger but also stronger and more ready to win the upcoming MCD elections with the efforts of the people of Delhi and the Aam Aadmi Party organization. We will now collectively take one step forward towards our goal. I wholeheartedly welcome them all to the Aam Aadmi Party family and hope that going forward, everyone will work the best that they can, in a disciplined manner and together, sweep the corporation.” AAP MLA Somnath Bharti said, “Today, the way we have welcomed so many new members of the party is a tremendous paradigm shift. Arvind Kejriwal is now known across the country for the politics of work and now, people exasperated with the politics of religion, regionalism, and totalitarianism are turning towards Aam Aadmi Party.
The policies of Arvind Kejriwal, the messiah of new politics, have created this desire to join the Aam Aadmi Party. Be it Delhi or anywhere else in the country, it's interesting how even the booth-level volunteers wish to join us. They are tired of picking up after them, and of being remembered only once every 5 years. AAP is the only party where the workers and volunteers have a complete hold over the leaders, the ministers, and the CM. I would like to share with you that Dr. Punpreet Singh is with us here today. He is a scholar of Sikhism and he has also written a book on the application of Guru Nanak's message in business and management. I welcome him here. He is also the ex-Vice President of the Shiromani Akali Dal and the International President (Youth) of the Jago Party. We also have young Kashish Ghai, who was the Youth Vice President from BJP. Along with them, district and booth level workers from their parties will also be joining in.
I thank them with all my heart for choosing this party. It is because of Shri Arvind Kejriwal that we are now seeing a new kind of daring politics everywhere. I hope we will continue with the kind of politics we're doing right now. We will take the politics of education, sanitation, and service forward and within reach of everyone. I would also like to welcome Payal Gupta Ji who is a social activist from Saket. People from all spectrums and walks of life, from politics to social work, are joining us now.” Describing the reason for joining the Aam Aadmi Party, Ashwani Bagdi said “We had to struggle hard while we were in Congress.
When we asked Congress to fight for the poor, they were not ready to do so. They presented zero accountability. But whenever we look at the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, their simplicity is commendable. We went to Haridwar and asked the people there, everyone only had praises to sing about the Aam Aadmi Party – they said that ‘AAP has done a very good job in Delhi’ and believed it to come to power in Uttarakhand this time.” Punpreet Singh said “I would like to say thank you to all of you for the opportunity that has been given to me today and for the fact that I am getting a chance to work at a party that works at the ground level. Shri Somnath Bharti Ji said that here the workers have a hold on the leaders. We want such a party where the worker, the leader's worth, and the work are valued the most because if work is not valued, then nothing good can be done for the nation.
We've all seen Kejriwal ji's hard work. Because of all this, today I took a vow to go for politics which is less politics and more service. I thank you wholeheartedly, again for giving me a chance to serve with the Aam Aadmi Party.” Kashish Ghai said, “The best thing about the Aam Aadmi Party is that we can go to an MLA's house with our complaints. On the other hand, no other party functions with this level of transparency and readiness to help. The Aam Aadmi Party has proved itself and delivered in every way possible. Seeing the level of honesty towards the public and the simplicity, I made up my mind to join the Aam Aadmi Party. It will be my endeavor to serve the people in every possible way by being a part of the Aam Aadmi Party.”
