Mauni Amavasya Vrat 2018 is being celebrated on Tuesday. This is the occasion where people observe Maun Vrat, in which people dedicate and try connecting to one's inner self and to God.
According to Hindu calendar, Mauni Amavasya falls in the month of Magh. While observing Maun Vrat one is able to check his/ her patients and try controlling rough and tough words against others.

As per the mythology, during the churning of an ocean in ancient times, a pot filled with Amrit came out. Some drops of the Amrit fell down in the river due to which it became extremely valuable. This is the reason that Mauni Amavasya is considered as sacred and people take a holy dip in river Ganges and observe Maun Vrat.

Maun Vrat is a way to make people realise about how and what they speak and the effects it creates on others. You can hurt your enemy in any way, but you friend may be hurt by the way or in a manner you speak or your silence may speak out louder.
