Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Friday warned the Centre of “dangerous consequences†if it tried to despoil the people’s vote and break her party.
“If Dilli (Delhi) tried to despoil people’s vote in Jammu and Kashmir like 1987 and break the PDP, then I think just like Salahuddin and Yasin Malik were born, there will be dangerous consequences of it,†ANI quoted Mufti as saying.
The strong reaction from Mufti came after the reports of disgruntled PDP leader and former minister Imran Reza Ansari, along with several other MLAs forming a ‘block’ within the party and supporting the BJP to form the government in the state.

Taking a dig at Mufti for her remarks, former J&K CM and National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah said that not a single person will mourn the demise of her party.Â
"Let me put this out here for all to remember NOT ONE NEW MILITANT WILL BE CREATED WITH THE BREAK UP OF THE PDP. People will not mourn the demise of a party created in Delhi only to divide the votes of Kashmiris," Abdullah tweeted.
