Border Security Force (BSF)  jawans posted at the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir have fired over 9000 rounds of mortar shells in retaliatory action against Pakistan’s unprovoked fire in the last three days.

Officials of BSF and Home Ministry have claimed that the pinpoint mortal shelling by BSF has destroyed firing position and fuel dumps of Pakistani Rangers.

The BSF has also released small video clips showing destruction of Pakistani Ranger’s firing position and fuel dumps.

The officials claimed that the situation is tensed along the 190 kilometer IB in Jammu area, after Pakistan opened heavy fire in the entire stretch of the IB in Jammu.

“Pakistan breached the ceasefire on January 19. Since then fierce exchange of firing is going on from both the sides. Their firing hit BSF posts and civilian areas leading to killing of two BSF jawans and four civilians,” said a senior officer of MHA.

According to MHA officials and Indian Forces deployed in frontline, movement of senior commanders of Pakistan Army and Pakistani Rangers have been witnessed during the last four days.

“The Rangers have refused to talk to the BSF and come over for a flag meeting,” said a MHA official.

He added that all BSF posts have been alerted and patrolling have been increased to thwart any infiltration.
