The newly-constituted group will also be responsible for identifying major leaders of terror organisations and its sympathisers. The TMG will meet on a weekly basis and submit their action taken report regularly.
It is to be noted that the move of setting up TMG comes amid crackdown from central agencies on groups in the Kashmir Valley including the JKLF and the Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir. The JKLF and the Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir is believed to be involved in supporting and financing separatism and terrorism. Soon after PM Modi-led government came in power, the central agencies revealed massive nexus between Hurriyat, terrorist organizations and stone pelters. So far, many separatist leaders have been found to be providing funds to all major terrorist group like LeT and Hizbul.
