In the second incident of decamping of rifles of J&K police by militants, terrorist dressed in army uniform barged into a police picket guarding a TV tower in Kashmir's Anantnag district. The militants decamped with five service rifles of thecops posted there, a police official said.

"Militants in combat uniform barged into the guard room of TV tower at Dalvash in Dooru area of Anantnag district at around 12.30 AM and overpowered the cops guarding the installation," the police official said.

Unfortunately, it is not the first gun snatching incident in the Valley. To combat this recurring problem, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has now decided to install Israeli chips in the rifles used by cops to effectively avert and track the stolen rifles and the culprits.

The Anantnag incident on Monday night was the second such occurence this month alone. Earlier on October 3, militants snatched rifles from policemen at Kulgam district.

Since the unrest broke out in the valley after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, the episodes of terrorist barging into the police pickets and decamping with huge cache of arms and ammunition have been rising. According to sources, senior police officer met last week and took decision to install Israel chips to crack a whip on militants.

According to sources, Israeli chips will be fixed in the rifles which will track the location of the  rifles via GPS-enabled system. Sources also told NewsNation that this technology is so advance that it can also record the conversation between the security guards and the militants.
