In yet another tragic incident over 40 minor girls were allegedly raped while one of them was mercilessly beaten to death at a shelter home in Bihar's Muzaffarpur, the news agency ANI reported.
As per the latest reports, a disagreement with some of the staff members from the stay home has ended tragically in the death of the minor.Â
Following the report of her death, who was buried in the shelter home premises, police have initiated a probe and started digging in and around the place.
Talking about the latest development, Harpreet Kaur, SSP, Muzaffarpur said, "10 people have been arrested so far, we will soon file a charge-sheet against them. None of the girls have mentioned that they were ever taken outside the hostel".
"Nothing has been found so far at the shelter home premises where digging is underway. We are conducting a thorough investigation, police is working independently," Kaur added.
Meanwhile, in a dramatic twist, senior RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has a close connection to the NGO owner and is trying to protect the accused.
"Owner of the NGO that runs the shelter home is close to CM Nitish Kumar, had even campaigned for him in elections," Yadav was quoted by ANI as saying.

Several RJD MLAs have also been staging a protest outside Bihar legislative assembly over the shelter home rape case. The agitation by the RJD leaders led to a Law and order and Drought like situation in the state.
In the past few years, the number of reported cases of children rape in India has increased at an alarming rate. Crime against children has surged up by sharp 11 per cent in the past few years, according to a freshly released data.
Going by absolute numbers, it’s an increase of 12,786 reported crimes against children across the country.
Earlier this year, shock and terrorr engulfed the nation after an eight-year-old girl, from a minority nomadic community was allegedly raped and murdered in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua. He had disappeared from near her home in Kathua and was later found dead in the area.
The Unnao rape case, on the other hand, came as a huge embarrasement for the Bharatiya Janata Praty (BJP) government. The shameful incident came to light after the victim allegedly attempted self-immolation outside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s residence.
A purported video of the girl’s father before his death had gone viral in which he alleged that he was mercilessly beaten up, including with rifle butts, by the MLA’s brother and others in the presence of police.
CBI found that a minor girl was raped at the residence of BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar on June 4, 2017 at 8 PM where she was lured by a woman, named, Sashi Singh.
