Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday cited Uttar Pradesh government website’s, that stated "Life in Uttar Pradesh is short and uncertain", record during his speech at Maharajganj poll rally to counter Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.

The Prime Minister asserted that Akhilesh claims that the latter’s work speaks itself, but what the state government’s website admits that life in UP is short and uncertain and in this particular backdrop, the state resembles to Saharan Africa.

He took pot-shot at UP officials, saying that the officers may face action as soon as he finishes his speech.

 Modi took out a detailed information from the website which puts tragic figures of the state.  It says that women on an average live less than 55 years in UP and that the mortality rate for children under five years is a high 141 in every thousand.
