In a gruesome incident, a woman allegedly killed her husband with the help of her brother in Mohali near Chandigarh, reports said on Monday. The duo allegedly stuffed the body of Ekam Singh Dhillon in a suitcase and kept it in a BMW car near his house in Mohali and were planning to dispose it, police said.
The woman is the niece of a former Congress MLA who lost in the recent assembly elections in Punjab. Police arrested Dhillon’s wife and claimed that she had admitted to murdering her husband with the help of her brother and his friend.
The woman along with her mother, brother and two other relatives has been booked under various sections of IPC, including murder. According to police, the woman and her brother were planning to throw the suitcase in which the body was stuffed in a canal.
They sought the help of an autorickshaw driver to carry the suitcase into the car, police said. He got suspicious when his hands were stained with blood and informed the police.

Ekam’s father Jaspal Singh Dhillon said he lived separately after he got married about 12 years ago. Police said the couple had quarrelled before the murder.
