At the beginning of monsoon session in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that growing together stronger is another name of the GST spirit and expressed hope that monsoon session will run with GST spirit.
PM Narendra Modi hopes the successful "rains" of GST will fill the Monsoon session with pleasant smell like that emanating from dry soil after showers.
“I hope all political parties, MPs will work for national interest and will engage in high standard of debate and provide value addition,” said PM Modi.
“This session gives the country an opportunity to elect the president and the vice president,” said PM Modi.
The monsoon session of Parliament started from Monday and will continue till August 11. The Opposition is expected to raise the heat with many issues like lynching and vigilantism, Kashmir issue and border stand-off with China.
Other issues which Opposition can bring to the table are Goods and Services Tax, farmers’ issues and diplomacy with Pakistan, issue of a ban on sale of cattle for slaughter in animal markets.
