Jammu And Kashmir: 3 Politicians To Be Released From Detention Today After Signing Bond

The Jammu and Kashmir administration will release three politicians on October 10 on various grounds which includes signing of a bond, officials said on Wednesday night. Yawar Mir, Noor Mohammed and Shoaib Lone are all set to be free today. Mir is a former MLA of the PDP from Rafiabad assembly seat, Lone contested unsuccessfully on a Congress ticket from North Kashmir and later resigned from the party. He was considered close to People’s Conference chief Sajjad Lone. Mohammed is a National Conference worker who has been managing the party’s show in the militancy-infested Batmaloo area of the Srinagar city. Read more…

Maharashtra Polls: 26 Shiv Sena Corporators, 300 Workers Resign Over Distribution Of Seats

Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019: Citing their 'unhappiness over the distribution of seats' for the upcoming polls, 26 Shiv Sena corporators and around 300 workers of the party have sent their resignation to the party chief Uddhav Thackeray. According to reports, these corporaters and workers are from Kalyan (East) area. Rajnath Singh Calls On French Defence Industry To Make India Its Production Base

Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday called on French companies to make India their base for the production of defence equipment. At the conclusion of his three-day visit to France, the minister addressed CEOs of leading French defence industries. “We have undertaken significant economic reforms to improve the ease of doing business and opening up the economy for investments. Our government under the leadership of our Prime Minister Modi has opened up defence sector manufacturing to a large extent under the ‘Make in India’s initiative’,” he said. Read more…
