After the heavy rains in Mumbai, the rainwater subsided on Wednesday leaving heaps of garbage on the city roads.
The labourers from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s Solid Waste Management department put up a tireless display by cleaning up the scattered garbage.
On Wednesday, 9,600 metric tonnes of garbage was picked up and dispatched to dumping grounds.
As per a report in Indian Express, 28,000 workers and staff members were included in the cleaning process.
Major garbage heaps were seen in low lying areas such as Gandhi Market, Kurla, Dadar, Khar, Grant Road, Borivli and Ghatkopar.
The garbage included thermocol, plastic bags and wrappers.
