A rail block is expected to happen from 11.10 am to 3.40 pm on the Kurla-Vashi Up and down harbour lines in Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. All Down harbour line services departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST) to Vashi / Belapur / Panvel from 10.34 AM to 3.08 PM and all the Up harbour line services departing from Panvel / Belapur / Vashi towards CST from 10.21 AM to 3.00 PM will remain cancelled, according to a report. This can be a cause of inconvenience for the passengers. Dismantling of Foot Over Bridge at Kasara End of Kalyan Station will also be carried out during the block period.
“Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via the mainline and trans-harbour line from 10 AM to 4.30 PM,” an official said. The official added that there will be a rail block on the main line, Thane-Kalyan Down slow line from 10.30 AM to 4 PM on Sunday. However, special services are expected to remain in operation during the block period on Panvel to Vashi and Kurla to CST sections.
The Western Railway announced that there will not be any block today on the railway’s suburban section.
Earlier, the Central railways had said that it will conduct a Mumbai Mega Block for maintenance of railway tracks. Due to this block, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual.
