A Himachal-based Muslim IAS-IPS couple has decided to adopt Khushdeep Kaur, the daughter of naib subedar Paramjit Singh, who was killed and beheaded by the border action team of Pakistan Army.
Kullu deputy commissioner Yunus Khan and his wife Anjum Ara, an IPS officer have contacted the martyr’s wife, Paramjit Kaur and expressed their will to bear the expenses of Khushdeep's studies and other things.
"Khushdeep will continue to stay with her family. We will be paying for all her expenses and meeting her from time to time to know about her problems and solve them. If she wants to become an IAS or IPS officer or choose some other career, we are there to help," a leading English daily quoted Anjum Ara, SP of Solan district as saying.

It’s very tough to alleviate the pain of the martyr's family but we are sharing their grief, said Yunus Khan.
"We would be there for her throughout her life to help her in making decisions," he added.
Yunus said that it is up to Khushdeep whether she wants to change her school or continue studying at her village school.
On May 1, Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh and BSF Head Constable Prem Sagar were slain by Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) which sneaked 250 metres into Indian territory in Poonch district of J&K.
