In yet another tragic incident, a Muslim man was beaten up mercilessly for over 18 hours on the suspicion of theft in Jharkhand's Kharsawan district. The 24-year-old victim, identified as Tabrez Ansari was attacked by an angry mob on June 18 and was later handed over to police. He had been in the judicial custody since June 18 and was taken to a hospital on June 22 after his condition deteriorated. Same day, Ansari succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical treatment.
Several videos of the incident emerged on social media show a man hitting Tabrez viciously with a wooden stick while forcing him to chant "Jai Shri Ram" and "Jai Hanuman". The videos of the Jharkhand mob lynching case have gone viral on social networking sites ever since the incident came to the light.

On the dreadful night of June 18, Tabrez, accompanied with two men left his village for Jamshedpur. While the two men escaped the spot after stealing, the angry mob caught Tabrez and thrashed him brutally. However, Tabrez is heard denying the charges till the very end, saying the two other men did the theft and he did not know anything about the same.

Following Tabrez's death, one of the accused, identified as Pappu Mandal was taken into the police custody while the search for the other is still on. An FIR has been also lodged in the Jharkhand mob lynching case. Tabrez Ansari, a welder and a labourer by profession, was living in Pune and had come to his village to celebrate Eid with family.
