An “outraged” India on Wednesday calling the mutilation of its soldiers a "strong act of provocation" summoned Pakistani high commissioner Abdul Basit and demanded immediate action against the soldiers responsible for the barbaric act.
“Basit was summoned by Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar to convey India’s outrage at the killing and the barbaric act of mutilation of the bodies of two Indian soldiers on May 1, 2017, by Pakistani army personnel”, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Gopal Bagley said.
Bagley also said that India has provided Islamabad “sufficient evidence” to act.
He also said Pakistani posts in Battal sector helped perpetrators in entering Indian boundaries by giving them cover fire and the blood trail was clear evidence that body parts of the soldiers were taken to the other side.

"Blood samples of Indian soldiers collected and the trail of blood on Roza Nala clearly shows that the killers returned across the LoC (Line of Control)," Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar told Mr Basit.
However, Pak high commissioner denied all the charges and said he will convey the message and concerns of Indian authorities to his govt. in Pakistan.
Pakistan had Tuesday asked “actionable evidence” from India to back its claim on the issue.
On May 1, Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh and BSF Head Constable Prem Sagar were slain by Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) which sneaked 250 metres into Indian territory in Poonch district of J&K.
