Bihar former chief minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rabri Devi on Tuesday claimed that there was no complete ban on liquor in Bihar.
The former chief minister also claimed that liquor is easily available in the state, “The government should be ashamed, there is no complete ban on liquor, it is available easily,” said Devi.
Rabri Devi’s remark comes after Sitamarhi BJP leader Manoj Baitha allegedly ran over nine schoolchildren on Saturday in Muzaffarpur. According to reports the driver and people boarded in the vehicle were under the influence of alcohol. Till the time report was filed no arrests have been made.

The former chief minister also said that her party won’t let the state assembly function smoothly until BJP leader accused in the run-and-hit accident is arrested.

On Monday, Bihar Police filed an FIR against the Sitamarhi BJP leader in connection to the hit-and-run case in which nine children were killed and at least 24 others suffered serious injuries last week.
The Nitish Kumar-led government in 2016 notified BIhar Prohibition and Excise Act which ensured complete ban on sale and consumption of liquor in the state.
