Tejashwi Yadav, who was ‘missing’ from public life for a long time, has finally broken silence. The younger son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad took to Twitter and opened up about why he was away from public life. In a series of tweets, Yadav revealed the real reason behind his absence and assure the people of Bihar that he was ‘very much here.’ “Friends! For last few weeks I was busy undergoing treatment for my long delayed ligament & ACL injury. However, I’m amused to see political opponents as well as a section of media cooking up spicy stories,” Yadav said on Twitter.

“We are accountable to people who look for a socialist-secular and social justice alternative in us and wish to assure that we are very much here and the fight is on...Recent developments helped me study, scrutinize, analyse and appraise the things in a different way,” he said in another tweet.

He also spoke about Encephalitis deaths in Bihar and said that, “Constantly following up the untimely loss of hundreds of poor kids due to AES. In this tragic moment asked party workers, leaders to visit affected families without getting into Photo-OP and MPs to raise it in Parliament & that’s why PM responded. My Dear Bihar!I am very much here (sic).”

“Since its birth RJD has been at the centre of poor peoples’ struggle and that position is not lost only because of an electoral defeat. Wish to assure people of Bihar as well as our spirited cadre, we are going to fight with renewed commitment on everyday life issues of poor,” the long Twitter thread ended with this tweet.

It should be noted that Yadav’s absence sparked intense media speculation. In fact,  RJD national vice-president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh had said, "I do not know where Tejashwi Yadav is. The World Cup is underway and perhaps, being a cricket enthusiast, he is in England to watch the tournament."

A local social activist Tamanna Hashmi had also put up posters announcing cash reward for missing Tejashwi Yadav. The poster with headline ''Missing! Missing! Missing!'' had come up in Muzaffarpur and declared a reward of Rs 5,100 for anyone who traces "missing" RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
