Navjot Singh Sidhu has been ousted from The Kapil Sharma Show following his statement, "For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual?" when talking about the dastardly terror attack on a CRPF convoy on Thursday, news agency PTI reported. While the entire country is condemning the attack and blaming Pakistan for giving a safe haven for Jaishe-e-Mohammed, Sidhu said that the entire country shouldn't be blamed. He was speaking outside the Punjab Assembly. According to sources, Sidhu was removed from the show after Salman Khan's decision. Apart from Kapil Sharma, Salman Khan's production house, SKF (Salman Khan films) also produces this show.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Assembly Friday strongly condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed and passed a resolution for adjournment of the proceedings of the House for the day. More than 2,500 Central Reserve Police Force personnel, many of them returning from leave to rejoin duty in the Valley, were travelling in the convoy of 78 vehicles when they were ambushed on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Latoomode in Awantipora in south Kashmir around 3.15 pm.

The Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack that took place about 20 km from Srinagar.

The Congress leader has found himself in controversial situations when it comes to Pakistan. During his visit to Pakistan to attend his cricketing days’ friend Imran Khan’s swearing-in ceremony as Prime Minister of the neighbouring country, he had hugged Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa during the ceremony in Islamabad and it was under the sharp gaze of cameras.

The visit though important has ended up in setting off a blame game back home where the BJP has been throwing barbs at the Congress by targetting Sidhu. This is so despite the fact that the Minister has been in the BJP until he crossed floor to join the Congress a little before last year’s Assembly polls in Punjab. And, thus, Captain Singh has stepped in with the possible intent to take some of the punch off the BJP attack on Sidhu and via him on the Congress.
