Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu is likely to join Congress on January 10, reports said on Saturday. The Congress and Election Committee meeting is scheduled to take place on January 10.
According to sources, Sidhu will be Congress' candidate from Amritsar seat. Sources further said that Sidhu will join Congress in New Delhi on January 9 in presence of party Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Punjab Congress President Capt Amrindar Singh.
According to reports, Sidhu has been offered the position of Chief Ministerial candidate in Congress.
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had claimed that Sidhu had declined Aam Aadmi party's offer to be their Punjab Deputy Chief Minsiter candidate because "Congress offered to make him their Chief Ministerial candidate".

On July 18 last year, Sidhu resigned from BJP as the Rajya Sabha member.
