Exhibiting a rare episode of insubordination in Indian Navy, four sailors, who were deployed on INS Sandhayak in Bay of Bengal, were removed from the survey ship for assaulting an officer. The incident took place on off Paradip of Odisha coast. The sailors were airlifted by a helicopter.
As per media reports, these sailors were assigned a task, but they did not perform. It was reportedly said that one of the sailors was asked to follow the senior's command which he did not follow and tried to send a message of defiance.
When the senior officer approached him, he started misbehaving with the senior. Even, his colleagues too started thrashing the officer. A few minutes later, a helicopter was brought in that airlifted them.
A probe has been ordered into the matter and the four sailors would have to face disciplinary charges.
