Nepal Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli on Friday arrived in India on his maiden three-day visit, after assuming office in February 2018. Home Minister Rajnath Singh and MoS Finance SP Shukla received Oli at the airport.
"Delhi: Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli arrives in India on a three-day state visit, received by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and MoS Finance SP Shukla," ANI reported.
Oli, accompanied by his wife Radhika Shakya is expected to meet his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
During his visit, he will hold talks with the Indian leadership to boost ties between the two countries. His agenda also includes a business luncheon event and interactive session with the Nepalese community in Delhi.

On Saturday, he will meet PM Modi in the evening and a high-level conclave with the top Indian leaders will take place to strengthen the relations between India and Nepal. The visiting leader will be accorded a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday.

Besides these, the inauguration of several development projects and press statements are also in the line followed by the conclave, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
On the second day, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Home Minister Rajnath Singh will also call on Nepal PM Oli.
"India and Nepal enjoy age-old special ties of friendship and cooperation. The upcoming visit will provide an opportunity to the two sides to review wide-ranging cooperative partnership, and to progress it further for the benefit of the two peoples," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
On the third day of his visit, the Nepalese premier will visit the G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.
Apart from these, he will visit the Breeder Seed Production Centre and an integrated farming project. Oli will also be conferred with an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science at the university.

Earlier, in February, Swaraj visited Nepal to congratulate Oli for his glorious victory of the Left Alliance in the Parliamentary and Provincial elections.
Congratulating Oli on his appointment to the top executive post, PM Modi had extended an invitation to him for a visit to India.
However, Oli will leave for Kathmandu later on Sunday evening.
