New bus terminal in Noida to resolve passengers woes

Keeping the huge problems of road transport for people residing in Noida, the Noida Authority has decided to build a new bus terminal that is currently under construction in Sector 82. According to authorities, the construction commenced from 1st January, 2015 and is almost halfway through its completion.

“The bus terminal is designed to be equipped for the movement of 100 new buses that Noida Authority plans to run in Noida; along with the other buses that are run by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transportation Corporation", said  Saumya Srivastava, Deputy CEO of Noida Authority. The terminal will also serve as a stop for other bus services to pick and drop passengers.

The terminal is planned to be equipped with separate bus bays, clear entry and exit points and parking areas. Constructing the terminal in Sector 82 provides good connectivity between the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida. Moreover, the decided location also assures good connectivity between the City Center Metro Station and Sector 71 Metro Station of Noida.

Other facilities like spacious waiting halls for passengers, special vending machines, CCTV camera surveillance, medical emergency stores, telephone booths, internet cafes and ATM machines will also be available in the terminal.

The total cost rendered for this project is estimated to be Rs 110 crore approximately. The bus terminal will be fully constructed and open to public use by 3rd July, 2016.
