India To Get Consular Access To Kulbhushan Jadhav Today 

India will get consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, who Islamabad alleges to be an Indian spy and is in Pakistan’s custody, from Monday. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) based in The Hague, Netherlands, allow the access on July 17.

Pakistan said that it had offered consular access to Jadhav "in line with Vienna Convention on Consular relations". Jadhav was arrested in Pakistan’s restive province of Balochistan in 2016 and accused of terrorism, spying, and fomenting trouble in the region. He was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court in 2017. However, the ICJ had directed Pakistan to stay his execution. READ MORE...

The Supreme Court will on Monday begin hearing the arguments of the Muslim parties in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid in Ayodhya dispute. The top court completed hearing the arguments of all the Hindu parties - including the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla Virajman - in the case, in 16 days. It initiated daily hearings in the case on August 6.

Chandrayaan 2 will undergo the important operation of the separation of the Vikram lander from the orbiter today. That event is scheduled for Monday at 12:45 pm IST. On Sunday, Chandrayaan 2 completed its fifth and final lunar orbit maneuver setting the stage for the release of the lander. The Vikram lander of Chandrayaan-2 is named after Vikram A. Sarabhai, known as the father of the Indian space program. It is designed to function for one lunar day, which is equivalent to about 14 Earth days.
