With Lok Sabha elections around the corner, New Nation conducted an opinion poll in Jammu and Kashmir and tried to find out the top choice for Prime Minister's post in the state and which party is likely to win the maximum number of seats. Through this opinion poll, we asked several questions from the people of the state and tried to find out who has the better chance in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in the state. According to the News Nation Opinion Poll, the Congress is likely to win 1 Lok Sabha seat, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can win 2, National Conference can win 2 and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is likely to win 1 seat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains the first choice for Prime Minister in Jammu and Kashmir with 37 per cent votes. However, Congress president Rahul Gandhi is at the second position with 31 per cent votes.
In 2014 elections, the PDP had won 3 seats (Baramulla, Srinagar, and Anantnag) and the BJP too managed to grab an equal number of seats (Jammu, Udhampur, and Ladakh). The biggest gainer in this opinion poll is the National Conference as it had not won even a single seat in 2014. However, they won Srinagar seat after PDP lawmaker resigned in 2016 which necessitated the by-poll.
