PM Modi To Embark On Week-Long US Visit Today, To Attend 'Howdy Modi', Address UNGA Session

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will depart for a week-long visit to the US on Friday. Announcing the schedule of PM Modi, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said he is scheduled to arrive in Houston on Saturday. PM Modi’s visit, according to the Foreign Secretary has three main pillars to it; first, the multilateral engagements at the UN. Second, the bilateral component of the visit in the US. India has said that it will not stoop low to Pakistan's level when asked about the response if Pakistan raised the Kashmir issue at United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Syed Akbaruddin, India's Permanent Representative to UN, was asked about the chances of Kashmir issue to be raised at the UNGA and how India would tackle it. Mumbai: Panic Grips City After Reports Of Gas Leak Smell- What We Know So Far

Panic gripped several areas of Mumbai for a brief while after many residents in city's western and eastern suburbs complained of a gas-like smell late on Thursday night. Many residents in Mumbai's western and eastern suburbs - from Powai to Mira Road - reported an unknown odour prompting rumours of a gas leak at the Rashtriya Chemical Fertiliser's plant in the Chembur suburb. Some reports even suggested breach in the Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) piplelines. However, BMC, MGL or other authorities have so far not been able to trace any source of origin for the odour. Saudi Oil Attacks: Iran Responsible, Waiting For Kingdom To Announce, Says US

The United States on Thursday said it is confident that it will be able to determine who was behind the drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities. “Indications are that Iran was behind the strikes but the United States will let Saudi Arabia announce who was responsible. As of this time, all indications we have are that Iran is in some way responsible for the attack on the Saudi oil refineries,” Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said. Read more…
