The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Tuesday questioned Delhi government over measures to control air pollution and implementing Odd-Even scheme in the national capital.
The NGT had already pulled up the Kejriwal government for giving exemption to women.
The NGT said,â€Why it can't run special buses for ladies to solve the problem of transport during Odd-Even scheme?â€
The tribunal asked the Delhi government that the latter had stated to ply four thousand buses on roads. "What is the current status on that," it asked. Â
It further asked, “When reports have stated that two-wheelers are more polluting than four-wheelers, why do you intend to give arbitrary exemptions? Is this a joke? What does one stand to gain from this?â€
The NGT said ,â€Don't gift infected lungs to children. They have to wear masks to school. What constitutes a health emergency according to you ?
It said,â€Measures should be applied automatically by Govt after dangerous levels of PM 2.5 and PM 10 persist for more than 48 hours.â€
