Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday resigned as Chief Minister of Bihar bringing an end to the 20-month-old grand alliance in Bihar. He cited irreconcilable differences with ally RJD on the issue of corruption charges against his deputy Tejashwi Yadav.
After his resignation, political reactions have started pouring in on the issue with some suggesting Nitish to give his decision a second thought while others questioning his intentions behind the decision in a time when Dalits and minorities are being attacked.
Here is who said what:
Narendra Modi:Â Congratulation to Nitish Kumar for joining hands against corruption. 1.25 billion Citizens welcome and support your honesty.

JP Nadda:Â BJP welcomes battle against corruption in Bihar. Not in favour of mid-term elections.
Randeep Surjewala: We are deeply disappointed by the news of Nitish Kumar's resignation. Congress respect Nitish Kumar as a leader. “Mahagathbandhan†was given a 5-year mandate by people of Bihar. We shall continue to strive the mandate given is fully respected.
Sitaram Yechury:Â A point to ponder. Bihar CM's resignation at this moment, when atrocities against Dalits and minorities are rising across India, helps whom?

Omar Abdullah: In politics, there are no permanent friends & no permanent enemies, just marriages of convenience. Nitish ji went hammer & tongs against the same BJP in the assembly elections.
