The motion of no-confidence against Narendra Modi government could not be taken up on Monday after AIADMK MPs protested in the Well of the Lok Sabha demanding the formation of Cauvery Management Board.
Following the protests, Speaker of the House Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House till tomorrow.
Earlier in the day, the AIADMK announced that it will not protest in the Well of the House on Monday, paving a way for the no-confidence motion to be taken up by the speaker.
The party also said that it also consider supporting the no-confidence motion against the ruling government if it is moved on the Cauvery issue.
It has been over two weeks, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the YSR Congress are trying to bring the motion of no-confidence in the Lok Sabha against the Modi government.
On Thursday, the main Opposition Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) also joined the league and gave notices for their own no-confidence motions.
