New Delhi:

On August 12, the Prime Minister will be seen trudging on an unbeaten path with TV adventure icon Bear Grylls on his super-successful show ‘Man vs Wild’. Before the show goes on air, host Bear Grylls told news agency ANI, “The side of PM Modi you will see is unlike you have ever seen before. The team has come back and said this could be the most watched TV show ever in any country in the world, and that is my hope for it.”

Bear Grylls is known worldwide as one of the most recognized faces of survival and outdoor adventure. Grylls spent three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces as part of 21st SAS Regiment.

On being asked what food did the Indian prime minister consume in his jungle safari, Grylls said, “PM Modi is vegetarian, so there was going to be no eating of grubs or anything. But in the wild, you can survive very well-off berries, roots, plants and certainly, PM spent his younger years in the wild, so he was very comfortable with that.”

‘Man Vs Wild’ is Discovery Channel’s Emmy award-nominated TV series, which became one of the most watched shows on the planet, reaching an estimated 1.2 billion viewers.

Moreover, Grylls shared that his team was on the edge while filming the show while the 67-year old PM Modi remained calm. About India, he said, “India is a remarkable and beautiful country with so much beauty that you’ve got to protect.”

Earlier, former US President Barack Obama also became the part of ‘Man vs Wild’ show. Sharing his experience of similarities between PM Modi and Obama, he added, “What was similar(Obama& PM Modi) was that they were there for the same purpose- for driving this message of ‘we have to protect the environment.”

Bear Grylls has hosted more extreme adventure TV shows across more global networks than anyone else in the world including the BAFTA award-winning “The Island With Bear Grylls,” “Bear Grylls’ Survival School,” “Man vs. Wild,” “Running Wild” for NBC and “Absolute Wild” for Chinese TV.
