Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday lost his calm after Congress MP’s created ruckus over Modi’s allegations against Manmohan Singh and said “nobody is going to give (an) apology.”

Congress MPs were disrupting the house demanding PM Modi’s apology for accusing his predecessor Manmohan Singh of conspiring with Pakistan to win Gujarat Assembly election.

Naidu told disruptive Congress MPs that Prime Minister Modi didn’t make the statement in the Parliament, therefore, no apology was required.

"This is not the way. Nobody is going to give apology. Nothing happened in the House. The statement was not made here," News agency ANI quoted Naidu as saying.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Modi, during an election rally in Gujarat had alleged ex-PM Manmohan Singh and other Congress leaders held a “secret meeting” with Pakistan officials to conspire against BJP in Gujarat polls.

Modi’s allegations were rubbished by Congress and Manmohan Singh himself came out criticising PM for spreading “falsehood” and demanded an apology.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Aazad said the Prime Minister cannot shoot and scoot and if he “feels difficult to apologise, then he should say that he did this to win Gujarat elections.”

After the ruckus, the Rajya Sabha got adjourned for the day.
