Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Saturday snubbed Dalit leader and Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad alias 'Ravan' and termed his remarks that he will make her the prime minister as "selfish" and "politically motivated". Recently, Azad had said that if things are left to him, he will make sure Mayawati becomes the prime minister. However, the Azad’s remarks failed to intrigue the BSP chief, who accused his party of playing in the hands of rival parties from behind the curtain.
“BSP has come to know that organisations like Bhim Army and Bahujan Youth for Mission 2019-Next PM Bahan ji are playing in hands of our opposition from behind the curtain. Those running these anti-BSP organisations are telling innocent people of our party in Dalit colonies that they'll make Behenji (Mayawati) PM. People running these organisations are telling this to people to run their business and gather crowd at their events,” Mayawati said in a press conference in Lucknow.

The BSP chief said that these people were playing with people’s sentiments and using them to collect funds, adding that their actions were provoking innocent people against the upper caste.
"They're playing with people's sentiments and collecting funds using it. These organisations do this not only for their and opposition's selfish needs but also provoke our innocent people against people of the upper caste and spread hatred," she said.
Ram Temple issue being raised by BJP to hide its failure
Reacting to the recent developments in Ayodhya over the construction of Ram Temple, the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh said that the BJP is raising the issue to hide its failure in the last five years.
“General elections will be held in a few months. BJP and PM Narendra Modi, has not fulfilled even 50 per cent of its promises made in 2014. They feel that they won't be back in power. To divert attention from their failures, they have raised the Ram Temple issue,” she said.
The Dalit leader questioned the BJP’s intentions on the construction of Ram Temple and said that the events of the Shiv Sena and the VHP in Ayodhya were part of the BJP’s conspiracy.
