New Delhi:
To generate awareness about the importance of energy and and to dispel the misconceptions related to nuclear energy Nuclear Power Corporation of India, a Government of India undertaking had organized a poster making competition.
The topic of the competition was Nuclear Energy – Future Energy, was conducted at Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura, New Delhi as part of a nation-wide campaign. Over 157 students participated in the competition.
The school principal Meenu Goswami said children’s expressions are an indication of their creativity. The children had portrayed the importance of energy in a very creative manner and had also showed how the production of electricity from nuclear energy did not cause much harm to the environment.
On this occasion, the judges also appreciated the work of the participating children and said this would increase awareness about science and energy.
On this occasion, informative material that aims at creating awareness about nuclear energy was distributed among the winning children, teachers and principal of the school.
Many such programmes are being organized in many states in India with an objective of creating awareness about clean energy and also removing misinformation about nuclear energy among the people.
