In view of upcoming festival season, National Security Guards (NSG) commandos have been put on stand to neutralize any possible terror attack. On the lines of IS, Lashkar and Jaish terrorists may target big cities for carrying out 'lone wolf' attacks. Various areas including metro, markets, malls and railway stations are under the fear of lone wolf attack.

According to Sources, more than 80 sensitive areas have been identified as possible terror targets. Digital maps of possible terror target sites have been made available to NSG after security audit and recognizing sensitive areas to perform any possible quick operations.

To cope with the onslaught of terror attacks, NSG commandos and the quick response team are placed on standby at different places.

In case of any terror attack during festival season, crowded areas are secured in order to reduce response time and quick response.

According to sources, 75 percent of NSG personnel are deployed at strategic locations in different places of the country. Due to which the drill for commando drill and anti-hijack operations will not be performed for the November 16's NSG Foundation Day.

During a program at NSG's headquarters, soldiers and commandos were briefed about the information.
