Taking a strict action against those involved in posting obscene pictures of women along with objectionable remarks, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday ordered the Crime Branch of Police to probe the same.
Patnaik ordered the Director of the Crime Branch of Police to initiate stringent action against the culprits involved in alleged posting of obscene remarks against some women students along with their photos on the social media site.
A group of students from three women’s educational institutions met the Chief Minister on Monday following which the direction was issued.
The girls demanded exemplary action against the persons involved in posting of such obscene remarks against Rama Devi Women’s university students along with their photos on the Facebook.
Earlier on Saturday, the students had lodged a complaint with the police alleging that pictures of some girl students were posted on Facebook with derogatory remarks.
